correct way to wire 220 volt starter to electric motor?
There are a few ways to do this. What type of starter and what type of motor is it? Does the stater have auxiliary contacts, a holding circuit etc. How will this start, what type of switches? If it is just a basic starter, hook the line power to the top of the starter, hook the motor leads to the overload. Take the control power to one side of the starter coil now if this is 120 volt control from the other side of the starter coil run that to one side of the overload contacts it should be a normally closed set it could be marked as 95 and the other side 96 hook your neutral to the other side of the contact. If you don’t have a overload then its just a contacter. If that’s the case hook the power to one side of the contacter, and the motor leads to the other side. Hook the control power to one side of the coil and your neutral to the other side.
