Craftsman 12 HP Lawn Tractor will not engage transmission?
This is a 10 or 12 y/o lawn tractor that has been running perfectly. Had a flat tire yesterday. We pushed it back to the house, repaired the tire. Now when you put it in gear nothing happens.The brake also does not engage anymore. Is this the clutch gone bad?
It’s possible. Did you push the mower with it in gear? If so, yea, it’s shot.
My wife says to check the belt. (ha-ha)

A friend of mine had problem with his Craftsman rider and it’s going to cost him $1600.00 to replace the transmission.
It was about the same age. He has had it for a long time.
