how do you replace rope in recoil on tecumseh engine?

Best to take the rewind off the engine and take it to a small engine shop. It is important that the rope be replaced with the right size and length of new rope.
For an experienced mechanic, replacing the rope does not take long, so labour should not cost you too much, and rope is not expensive either. But it would be best to leave to an experienced mechanic.
If you start messing with the recoil you could do yourself serious injury if you don’t know how to handle the recoil spring safely.
