Lawnmower problem?
It’s a Murray, briggs and stratton– it was used one month ago for the first time and worked ok. Second use, it wouldn’t get up to speed no matter how far i put the throttle. Stopped it, primed it again, went to start and it would not roll over. As I kept yanking on it, it was spitting what I guess is oil out of the muffler. Oil level was ok when I checked it before and after it ran. Thoughts???
I don’t think it has a manual choke- all I do is pull back that safety bar thing and pull the rope. That’s how I’ve done it for 4 years- what would a manual choke look like?
I took the muffler off and out poured a whole bunch of gunky fluid- I’m guessing oil. I let it drain out as much as I could, cleaned it up and put it back on. Haven’t started it, will let it set over night. Is it odd to have alot of that in a muffler?
I’m betting it needs a new diaphragm in the carburetor. —common in these engines.
