How to get a ’91 Aerostar starter motor out?
How do you get a starter motor out of a 1991 Aerostar van? The transfer case and exhaust are in the way, so I’m having some troubles with this.
The manual says that you have to remove part of the exhaust system.
I got mine out by a convoluted method that required the removing the drive shaft to the front axle to transfer case. Still not easy, but the bolts were easier to remove and replace with out breaking them. A previous shop had used a flame tomahawk to do the job (I had to fix that too).
