What is the difference between the carburetor choke?

I have a lawnmower engine with a 4.5 HP MTD Techumseh. Would be for few seconds if you put a c. Tea of gas in the spark plug hole. Upon inspection, I saw my pear Carb broke. In my house there is a hole in it, but the store engine had a small local companies that match this was a hole so I tried. It also replaces gasket between the carburetor and the container after cleaning the dirt / enamel in the carburetor with carburetor cleaner. Still I can not get a prime number, which means that the record will remain dry after trying to prime time. I can not read the model number of the mower deck, so I have no idea of carbohydrates it is accurate. Why have a hole type 1 and not others? Are they interchangeable?

use what is behind the mower should be the eye of a step, I have never seen a hole in it, although it can be.
