How to set up a new aquarium?
Hello. I have a 70 gallon tank. I added 2 and pleco tank cycling couple of goldfish. I have intention to hold an Arowana. I have a cartridge filter, heating, 2 pump, filter sponge, and a bak pak skimmer. I added the different means of skimmer bak-pak as a biological filter sponge, notes, bullets etc. What chemicals can be used to reduce the hardness and the pH? Are there chemicals to prevent or eliminate high levels of ammonia and nitrite in water in addition to changes of 20%? The answers are much appreciated. Thanks: D
1. Added the goldfish Plecos and essentially sealed their fate. Plecostomus to create a large amount of waste and two is not necessary, even for an established tank. Are territorial another. Goldfish-also create a lot of waste so that they too might suffer and die from ammonia poisoning. 2. Today, fans know more than ever good habits of fish. Cycling with fish is almost archaic. Cycle fish without doing the same job at the same time, but the issues are not fish to dangerous conditions. 3. Most fish are able to adapt the parameters of your water. Unless your levels are extreme, to interfere with the pH often cause more harm than good. 4. In an aquarium Cycling it values and ammonia and nitrite are not kept always a problem and must prove to 0 ppm. Nitrifying bacteria become nitrates by removing changes weekly partial water.
