Is it more expensive to do laundry on certain days?

I have heard from the grapevine that the rise in utility rates for Jack the weekend because use tends to increase. People make clothing, staying at home watching television, listen to surf the Internet. It is logical, but I want validation. Does anyone know the answer other than to call your local electricity provider to find out?

Our electricity supplier has a cost estimator on their website and we have not changed the new "smart" meter is digital and measures of use by time of day, night and during periods of heavy use.
